Monk Park Farm is situated in Bagby, in the heart of Herriot Country. It is a 5-minute drive from the historic Thirsk Town Centre. In February 2021 Monk Park Farm was bought by new owners which started off a whole new improvement to the business. Before they re-opened the farm in April 2021, the entrance, toilets and café were all refurbished to give it a brand-new feeling to all visitors.
It is a perfect place for a family visit for a day as there is plenty to do to fulfil your day there. The new owners improved the outdoor play area for children, with the addition to a large new sandpit. There are hundreds of animals to see including being able to feed some of them on the way round the farm. With the outdoor play area there are pedal cars that children can enjoy on their visit too.
Alongside all of that there is a relaxing café with a great range of hot drinks and lovely food after a long day of seeing the animals. A gift shop is also on-site where visitors can purchase rememberable goodies to take home about Monk Park Farm. Families can jump on the barrel ride which takes a tour through the countryside fields to get close and personal with each and every animal, or there is a 1 mile walk around the farm with three feeding stations to keep visitors busy.
With Monk Park Farm being located just a 5-minute drive from Thirsk visitors can easily go to the local restaurants, shops or attractions. The huge museum of The World of James Herriot is situated just a minute walk from the town centre where Sir Alfred Wight once lived.
