Laburnum House

Laburnum House is situated in Thirsk and a 5-minute walk from the Town Centre. It is home to the heart of Herriot Country and is a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing room for a few nights or more. The owner of the property, Val, was born and bred in Yorkshire and has lived in the area for over 55 years now so visitors staying at this house can get any knowledge they are after about anything to do with Thirsk. 

Visitors to this house may look from the outside and think it is deceiving but upon entering the building it is stunning. There is a brand-new toilet, based downstairs accompanied with a new hand basin, the dining room guests can use is large and well-furnished. Adjoining the guest dining room is an orangery which was built back in 2013, fully furnished with plenty of seating, CD/radio player and a selection of bored games or books. 

At the top of the house are 3 bedrooms, 2 being double rooms with en-suite and a twin room which have been recently decorated to brighten to experience for guests staying here. As well as flat screen TVs, remote control Tempur beds and a new bathroom along with that. 

In the past the house had a conservatory which has now been replaced with a new air-conditioned room. This leads to the beautiful garden out the back in which guests can relax and breathe the countryside experience. With Laburnum being a short distance from Thirsk Town Centre visitors can check out the local shops or restaurants, as well as seeing the historic World of James Herriot Museum.
