A gentleman named James Goodhart, From the Herriot Country, started up the business ‘Bon Coeur Fine Wines’ in 1994 at the age of 24. He currently holds over 25 years experience in trading, and with that he’s brought up his company to develop one of the UK’s leading independent wine merchants.
Bon Coeur Fine Wines supplies wine to many areas such as: private households, corporates, events, restaurants and pubs all throughout the UK and Herriot Country. Over the course of these 25 years the business has grown a high reputation amongst the trade industry providing top quality wine to their customers.
The wine supplier has a big selection to choose from, selling everyday drinking wines, Champagne and port, to the specialisation of Burgundy and Bordeaux En Primeur wine. The business as a whole is run by a close family and is now based just outside Melsonby, 5 minutes from the A1 at Scotch Corner, North Yorkshire.
Due to Bon Coeur Fine Wines being an independent merchant the company holds no agencies meaning they can buy the best fine wines and the best vintages in the industry. The company tends to buy wine directly from the producers and they are able to also import them globally.
James Goodhart the managing director of the business has built strong relationships over the ongoing years with the international wine markets. James is very passionate for particularly investing in wines globally and has built impressive wine cellars, selling en Primeur wine which attracts more guests to his business with his extra efforts.
In 2018 Bon Coeur Fine Wines won the International Wine Challenge Award 2018 for Regional merchant of the year, and to follow that they have now been nominated for the International Wine Challenge Award 2021.
