Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre is a fantastic insight into the workings, history and taste of a local brewery at work in Herriot Country. The family story of the business also emerges in your tour and you’ll get to sample the goods!

Alf Wight (James Herriot) loved a pint of local ale and he would definitely like the taste of the traditional and modern brews that come out of this small but internationally renowned brewery. The brewery tour gives visitors the opportunity to listen to experienced tour guides take a look behind the scenes and get a first-hand insight into the unique processes used to create the perfect pint of Black Sheep beer. You’ll see a video featuring Paul and Rob Theakston and after you have seen the brewhouse the tour finishes at the bar, where you can sample a range of our delicious beers.

The Sheepy Shop is where you can buy your own choice of beers and memorabilia and merchandise and offers you the chance to take a little piece of Black Sheep home with you. With our full selection of award winning bottled, canned and kegged beers all available from the shop, there’s sure to be something that will tickle your taste buds. Away from the beer, we offer exclusive clothing, beery gifts, glassware and other Yorkshire treats to take away after your visit.

The Baa…r and Kitchen offers home cooked food with locally sourced ingredients which provides a true taste of Yorkshire to accompany your Black Sheep beer. Open daily from 10am so you can get your coffee fix and then lunch through to evening service on Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre is one of Herriot Country’s most popular tourist attractions, just off the centre of Masham, which is an attractive Yorkshire Dales town itself, and is less than half an hour from the World of James Herriot.
