Kilnsey Park

Kilnsey Park is a fabulous outdoor attraction within 1000 acres of countryside and woodland, situated near Grassington in the heart of Herriot Country. It has stunning views nearby of Upper Wharfedale, Great Whernside and the towering Crag which inspired painter Turner. The Park is only a 10-minute drive to Grassington where All Creatures Great & Small was filmed. 

Kilnsey Park Fishing Lakes has been around since 1978. In the thousands of visitors to the Kilnsey Lakes in that time they all have experienced a magnificent atmosphere and the stunning surroundings of Upper Wharfedale and the huge backdrop of Kilnsey Crag. No matter how many times guests go here they will have a different but complete fishing journey every time and it is also a perfect spot for beginners to get their hands on as well. 

The Park also has a relaxing café that overlooks the lakes and valley. They serve a famous Yorkshire pink fish & chips and various other meals. Everything is freshly made by the team, and all are used with locally sourced produce where they can. The café provides takeaway hot food & drink for the fisherman and even the walkers passing by, as well as catering for children with a wide selection of fun and healthy meals. 

At Kilsney Park there is stunning accommodation that visitors can use to enjoy relaxing bedrooms after a long and tiring day out, whether it be doing the activities at the park or walking and cycling around the area of the massive Yorkshire Dales. 

Just an hour drive away from the historic town of Thirsk Town Centre visitors can travel to see the fantastic museum of The World of James Herriot where Alfred Wight once lived and even travelled himself up near Kilnsey Park.
