The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park is situated in the stunning Herriot Country between Masham and Ripon. It home to over 80 magnificent contemporary sculptures and is set within 45 acres of pure woodland and gardens. The climate of the valley the park sits in is able to make a fertile ground which grows the famous rare blue poppy.
Alongside the famous poppy is a huge list of over 20,000 plants this Himalayan Garden holds. It contains the largest collection of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and magnolias. The Park features works by internationally renowned artists, all inspired by nature. In the location there is also a beautiful Pagoda, Summerhouse, Norse Hut, Contemplation Circle and Himalayan Shelter, all complimented by three big lakes and decorative bridges.
Himalayan Gardens has a wide selection of refreshments that are available from their tearoom/horsebox, serving hot and cold drinks, fresh sandwiches, soup and hot food along with special deserts for visitors to enjoy eating outside.
The Gardens has won a variety of awards such as the winner of Yorkshire in Bloom Tourist Attraction Award 2018 and 2019, and the Best Business Award 2019. It has even featured on BBC Country file’s and attracted a celebrity called Joanna Lumley who described the business to be “a slice of heaven.”
It is only a 40-minute drive from the historic Thirsk Town Centre where visitors can travel to see the stunning museum, The World of James Herriot. The Himalayan Gardens will be re-open in April 2022 to October 2022 for their brand-new season to the garden.
