Cottage in the Dales was founded back in 2003 by Andrew and Diane Howarth. From the beginning they have prided themselves on giving visitors a ‘luxury five-star experience,’ All 3 cottages owned are made to give a high-quality hotel feeling, providing premium toiletries, a warmly lit fire and the best local produce in the fridge.
Inglenook Cottage is based near West Burton village green where James Herriot may have once passed by on his travels through the Herriot Country. It contains mesmerising garden views, this 18th century Grade II listed cottage provides charm & character to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable break all year round.
The Byre cottage is set in the working rural hamlet idyll of Newbiggin in Bishopdale and has a luxury country style. With 21st century facilities as well as a cosy woodburning stove, oil central heating and private parking, this cottage has a courtyard patio with plenty of views to the Dales hills. It accommodates a 2-person stay for a couple or friends wishing to spend some quality time together.
The Dairy cottage replicates The Byre with all services within the ground floor. In addition, the dairy provides facilities for guests with mobility access, hearing and visual impairments to follow the National Accessibility Standards if required. With luxury touches throughout the building, visitors get the chance to relax in front of a lovely inglenook fireplace alongside the original feature cart-horse window.
Cottage in the Dales experience goes beyond these 3 cottages and works alongside local businesses around Herriot Country to provide guests with the best and most comfortable experience. There is an offer to a complimentary drink at The White Lion Inn with the visitor’s meal with their cottage key shown.
