Green Wood Parks Thirkleby Hall

Enjoying the freedom of a caravan or camping holiday is one of the most popular stays in Herriot Country. Greenwood Parks’ park at Thirkleby near Thirsk is on the doorstep for a visit to the World of James Herriot and offers some exceptional caravan and camping facilities that the original Yorkshire Vet James Herriot would have enjoyed.

A spacious and scenic 30 acre park, with a lake full of fish, a wood full of wildlife, and set in the grounds of an old stately home, it has a friendly team of people and visitors.

Only four miles from Thirsk and situated on a slight rise with distant views of Sutton Bank and the White Horse, the Thirkleby park is only 20 miles from the historic city of York, and makes an ideal base for exploring the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.

There are two holiday caravans for hire and others to buy for those looking for a long-stay holiday home, forty seasonal touring pitches and ten short-stay camping pitches. There is a games room a fishing lake, large recreation field, and a laundry and shower/toilet block.  Well-behaved dogs are very welcome on the park.

To assist guests in summer and take care of holiday homes in winter the park manager lives on site all year round and for anyone looking to visit the sites of All Creatures Great and Small it is well placed for the recommended starting point at the World of James Herriot in Thirsk.
