Rumah Homes at Coxwold is a tea rooms, bed & breakfast, holiday cottage and a home furnishing experience all rolled into one. A warm welcome awaits from your host Liz Atwooll whose keen eye for design detail in all things home and comfort shines through.
Originally a trad-style B&B but Liz has transformed it into a designer piece that expresses comfort, colours and the courtesy of good design to make a breakaway or a cottage stay make you feel right at home. . .
Rumah Home is a low-ceilinged, charming property with nooks and crannies, flagged floors and serious fireplaces. Formerly the village headmaster’s house, there are three letting bedrooms, two doubles and one twin. You’ll sleep on Egyptian cotton bedding and enjoy complimentary toiletries, whilst surrounded by a quintessentially English garden freely available to guests.
. . .and if you are feeling flush you can buy and take home some of the furnishings, fixtures and beautiful things for you and your home from her Rumah Home retail shop with gifts, accessories, soft furnishings and more. Also featuring fine local arts and crafts. It’s a unique offering that brings a whole new approach to holidays in Herriot Country.
Situated in Coxwold which is a delightful rural village that includes a Perpendicular style 15th century church, with an unusual octagonal tower, the interior of the church is more Georgian than medieval in feel, with a flat oak ceiling and box pews. The village has an art group, a local history society which shares its 1000+ years of recorded history and every June hosts open gardens for locals and visitors. There’s Yoga in the Village Hall every week.
