Askrigg Holiday Cottages offer two very distinct cottages in the Yorkshire Dales where owners Sue and Ken Williamson have created a high standard and beautiful self-catering accommodation. Their ethos of a hands on, family run holiday business that meets their own exacting standards of comfort, design and equipment so that guests can feel at home and enjoy their visit to Herriot Country in style.

Minnies Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage built in 1834 with fabulous inglenook fireplace that has stunning views of Wensleydale and is located next to the ancient church at Askrigg. It is quaint and quirky and has beamed ceilings, original plank doors and snecks (the local name for door latches), deep set windows and stone shelves. It has a king-sized bedroom with separate dressing room and with its special atmosphere is perfect for a romantic break for two.

Urlay Nook has a south facing garden and is the only VisitBritain five-star award cottage in Askrigg. It sleeps four in space and comfort with two bathrooms. Filled with light, Urlay Nook has 20 windows and four outside doors!  The interior is full of unique features including a bread oven, window seats, beams and has thick stone walls. Decoration is with Farrow and Ball and the Lite Greene Paint Company and there is a neat and interesting mix of new an antique furniture.

Located in the north western part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park between Aysgarth and Hawes, Askrigg makes a lovely spot for a Herriot Country holiday and is only an hour from the World of James Herriot in Thirsk.
